Creative Writing Coach

The saying goes that everyone has a story inside of them, and if you're reading this, you're likely one of those people who, like me, feel inclined to agree. It starts as a recurring thought, a chapter playing out in various ways in your mind, then the characters begin to take form, and what was almost a musing of sorts becomes a movie your mind replays anytime silence finds you. In the car. Walking the dogs. Cooking the dinner. The story keeps returning.

But this is where many people hit a roadblock;

'I don't know how to write a novel.'

'No one will want to read this.'

'I don't have time to write a book.'

We've all had those thoughts. And sometimes, navigating our doubts (especially alone) can be enough to stop us from writing more than a few chapters. And the thing is, our stories want to be written. They are bursting to life inside of us if we only felt confident and supported enough to write them to completion. This is one of many reasons that I decided to offer my services as a creative writing coach. There are so many life changing stories out there, waiting to be written, and it's my mission to help people transform the ideas in their mind into the book they are destined to publish and share with the world.

With bespoke 1 to 1 coaching, together we will;

  • Reconnect with the purpose and soul behind your story (your 'why').

  • Build characters and worlds with emotion that are unique and meaningful to you.

  • Create writing routines you can stick to and feel excited about.

  • Stay accountable so the draft actually gets written (and published!).

  • Understand your publishing options with clarity

  • Learn how to market your novel(s) and share them with the world

My goal isn't just to help you write a book.
It's to help you write your book, the only you can write.

If you're ready to stop thinking about your story and start writing it, you can enquire about 1-on-1 coaching here.

Kind words from Clients

"I honestly don’t think Growing Pains would exist without Ray. From the very beginning, she believed in both the story and in me, even when I doubted myself. She helped me with weekly co-writing sessions, guided me through the publishing process step by step, and even secured my first book deal when I had no idea where even to begin. Most importantly, she made me feel validated, she took my dream seriously, and she was an ally in a world with far too many naysayers.

She has been a constant support in the lead-up to the launch, with the press and the planning, and has been vital in just keeping my head in the game. Ray doesn’t just help you publish a book.

She helps you find your voice, stand by your story, and put something meaningful into the world. I’m beyond grateful to have had her in my corner."

Joseph Ball, Author of Growing Pains
